One of the best things we do and something we as a charity all look forward to is the Annual Love Me, Love My Face Foundation Retreat.

This is something that we have tried to do every year since the Charity began. It started with humble beginnings in Castleford at “The Hub “and has since grown to UK Wide event. Our Retreat in 2022 was an absolute success at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which consisted of a tour of the Zoo, some team building exercises in which all the kids built some excellent Meerkat houses, and finished off some amazing food surrounded by dinosaurs in the onsite Restaurant.

Our biggest Retreat to date was definitely last years (2025) at Barnstondale Activity Centre, where all our families came together to get outdoors, have fun, connect over camp fires, at a cosy movie night, along with our amazing group sessions and many great activities provided by Barnstondale themselves.

The retreat is a great way for us to link up families in similar circumstances, share stories, hints and tips, its a chance for TCS kids to make lifelong friends with other TCS kids from around the UK. It’s also a chance for Parents and the Kids to unload in a safe space, they can talk about challenges, difficult moments, things they are struggling with, future expereinces they are scared of, they can do all this in a safe environment surrounded by people going through exactly the same thing as them. We show them that they are not alone in this, we are all one family and we are all there to help.
